LESSONS FROM THE GOOD SHEPHERD: A LEADER KNOWS HIS MISSION!
Throughout the “Good Shepherd” discourse, Jesus plainly demonstrates that He knows why He was sent to earth: to give life (eternal life) to the lost. This mission characterises His entire life and it shows in His discourse. When they contested what He was saying, He boldly responded: “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28, NIV). It is clear that He knows what He is about and He is confident about it. Every leader must clearly know what mission he is to accomplish and he must be confident that it is possible. Leadership cannot thrive without a mission; and mission is meaningless unless the leader has confidence! – Dr. Josiah B. Andor (Director, Paraklet Love and Life Consultancy).
